Scotland
Scotland was absolutely beautiful and the weather was incredible. We stayed in Crieff for the first week, which was an ideal central location. Our Bed & Breakfast, The Galvelmore B&B, was fantastic and so cute! Click here to see the Turnberry pictures!
These are pictures of Crieff, Scotland, where we stayed.
The pictures below are of Drummond Castle & Gardens, right outside of Crieff. The gardens were beautiful!
Next, we went on the Grouse Experience - I am definitely not a whiskey fan - and even saw a Grouse!
On our way to Edinburgh, we stopped off at the Falkirk Wheel and is a true testament to technology today! For all of you Hyacinth lovers out there, anyone up for some 'riperian entertainment?' You will spot the picture easily! Then, we went on H.M. Yacht, the Royal Britannia before visiting Edinburgh Castle and of course, Marks & Spencer!!! We went to several of these, no trip to the U.K., Ireland or Central Europe is complete without a visit to Marks & Spencer's food court!!!!!
Above is where the Queen slept, notice the single bed! Below is the smaller boat for going into Cannes, St. Tropez, etc.
Here are the pictures of Edinburgh Castle and Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Queen's official residence in Scotland.
We visited the Birnam Institute's Beatrix Potter exhibit. Birnam is where she visited during the summer.
These are pictures of Loch Ness - no sign of Nessie! The sun's rays were incredible peeking through the clouds!
Next, we drove to Balmoral, in hopes of catching a glimpse of the Queen. She drove right past us in her Range Rover! The place on the far right is called 'Real Food.' They had the best fish & chips and mushy peas that I have ever had. For the record, I have had lots of fish & chips in my life from the most expensive in London ($57 for one order) to Barb's Place in Victoria, British Columbia!
The next day, we went to Glamis Castle, where the Queen Mother was born. It was tea time, so we had some tea and scones! They were having a gala that night and the owner's son came speeding past us, while walking the grounds, in his new Maserati.
