The Westin Turnberry Resort, Scotland

My parents had the Presidential Suite at Westin's Turnberry Resort in Ayrshire, Scotland.  Many recognize this area on first glimpse of the Ailsa Craig.  In 2009, The British Open will be played here.  We also visited Culzean Castle.

At dusk each night, they play bagpipe music.

In the front of the resort, they have a 'pitch & putt' area - complete with large bunkers!

One of the days, I walked the entire area, complete with a visit to the lighthouse.  My total mileage was just over 6 miles.  Here are the pictures of my walk - in no particular order.  I got a picture of the famous holes 9 &10, landing strip for the Royal Air Force and halfway house, which I must admit through me for a loop.  But, it is at the 'half way' point of the Ailsa Craig course.

You can tell this is a golfing town - check out the golfer in the middle picture.

This is their Presidential Suite.  I didn't take a picture of the bedrooms - just bathroom and sitting room.

These are the pictures of Culzean Castle.  One of my parent's friends hosted their daughters wedding and reception here.  People can spend the night here and it was where Eisenhower would always stay when visiting the area.
