For our 2nd anniversary, it was Billy's turn to pick our trip! (Note: I picked Atlantis & One and Only Ocean Club Resort last year). It snowed 54 cm the first night and 15 cm the second, making the skiing PERFECT!!! They have received record snow this year since Nov. 1. We both love to ski and can absolutely see why Whistler Blackcomb Mountains are ranked one of the top ski destinations in North America!
We stayed at the Four Seasons Resort in Whistler. The ski concierge service was great. They brought our skis each morning to the chair after putting on our boots. In the evenings, they gave us hot chocolate and took our skis from us at the mountain base. The other two pictures are taken from the chair lift.
Looks like Billy's jump didn't land as he planned!!! An angel making a snow angel! Did you hear that lightning?
While skiing, we found 'Merlin's Trail' which led to this castle. It was a total winter wonderland with the snow all around. We had a blast going down the slides that were REALLY fast! You can see the slides hidden in the snow on the left picture!
Karen taking a turn at the other slide. You can see how deep the snow was on the right. I had to climb over the snow (wasn't easy in the big boots) just to be able to surprise Billy with a snow ball!
This was coming down the 7th Heaven Lift at the very top of Blackcomb Mtn. It was -17 degrees Celsius here and FREEZING!!! Click on the right picture to see how Karen maneuvers moguls on a black run!
Because it was our anniversary, the Four Seasons upgraded us to the Executive Suite! We had two bedrooms, two full luxurious baths, long hallway and a sitting room with the fireplace - - really nice after a cold day of skiing!
Karen sitting on our balcony with a wonderful snowy view!
These pictures were taken in Whistler Village. You can see all of the icicles on the wreath and light. We had to take a picture of the Maple Leaf, our inside family joke!
These pictures were taken from the interior of the Four Seasons. The snow was definitely deep!!
You won't be seeing double in two weeks! We are going back to Whistler for a family ski trip in January!
These pictures were taken on the drive from Whistler to Vancouver on the 'Sea to Ski Highway.'
Arriving back in the United States of America!
